The same VM, locked down with a security group (only SSH and HTTPS in) and captured to a fresh image nightly by an image schedule. Re-applying the web VM updates it in place (idempotent by name).

Volume backup and restore

Back a data volume up to an image, then restore it into a new volume. spec.volumeId and spec.vmId on the image are mutually exclusive, and only a volume-sourced image can restore a volume via spec.imageId (which is itself mutually exclusive with spec.osImageId).
