Kvindo™ Cloud Docs
A Kafka Parameter Set is a named, reusable collection of Kafka broker configuration properties. Attach it to a cluster via spec.parametersSetId to apply a consistent profile — a short-retention streaming cluster, or a durability-first one with min.insync.replicas — without editing each cluster individually.
• Keys are raw Kafka property names — log.retention.ms, not a Kvindo-specific alias. They are checked against a fixed, allow-listed catalog, so an unrecognized key is rejected at request time rather than forwarded and silently ignored by the broker
• Values are always strings — quote numbers and booleans ("86400000", "true") the way the underlying property expects
• Reuse — one set can be referenced by many clusters; updating the set re-applies to every cluster that references it
• Swapping freely — changing which parameter set a cluster references is the one field its modify guardrails leave unrestricted
• log.retention.ms — non-negative integer (milliseconds)
• log.retention.bytes — integer ≥ -1
• log.segment.bytes — integer ≥ 1048576
• log.cleanup.policy — one of delete, compact, compact,delete
• compression.type — one of none, gzip, snappy, lz4, zstd, producer
• min.insync.replicas — integer 1–broker count
• default.replication.factor — integer 1–broker count, and it must not exceed the broker count. This is the value a topic takes when its own replication factor is left unset
• num.partitions — integer ≥ 1 (the default for new topics created without an explicit partition count)
• auto.create.topics.enable — boolean (leaving it on is a common source of accidental topics — they show up in status.unexpectedTopics)
• message.max.bytes — integer ≥ 0
• unclean.leader.election.enable — boolean (enabling it trades durability for availability)
• log.cleaner.enable — boolean (must be on for any compact cleanup policy to do anything)
