Parameter Set

A Valkey Parameter Set is a named, reusable collection of Valkey server configuration directives. Attach it to a Valkey Cluster to apply a consistent tuning profile — for example a cache-heavy eviction or a durability-first persistence profile — without editing each cluster individually.

Key concepts

• Parameters — a string→string map of a fixed, allow-listed set of Valkey directives (spec.parameters) — an unrecognized key or an out-of-range value is rejected at request time, not silently forwarded

• Reuse — one set can be referenced by many clusters; updating the set re-applies to every cluster that references it

• Values are strings — quote numbers and booleans ("80", "true") the same way the underlying directive expects

• Swapping freely — changing which parameter set a Valkey Cluster references is the one field its modify guardrails leave unrestricted

Allow-listed parameters

• maxmemory-policy — one of noeviction, allkeys-lru, allkeys-lfu, allkeys-random, volatile-lru, volatile-lfu, volatile-random, volatile-ttl

• maxmemory-percent — integer 5–90

• maxmemory-mib-per-process — integer ≥64

• io-threads — integer 1–8 (restart required to take effect)

• cluster-node-timeout — integer 1000–60000 (milliseconds)

• min-replicas-to-write — integer 0–1

• min-replicas-max-lag — non-negative integer

• cluster-require-full-coverage — boolean

• appendonly — boolean (applied live via CONFIG SET, no restart)

• appendfsync — one of always, everysec, no
